PROGRAM INFORMATION

Kiboko Class

Ages 3 + 4

This class learns through play-based methods. Learners are exposed to pre-mathematics, pre-reading, and pre-writing concepts while working on fine/gross motor and social/emotional skills. Their curriculum is structured through thematic learning schemes. Potty training is a prerequisite for new students in Kiboko class.

Tembo Class

Ages 5 + 6

This class receives early phonics, reading, writing and mathematics instruction. Learners are beginning to explore scientific and geographic concepts. The curriculum has social/emotional learning themes throughout all areas. Learners will begin bringing homework throughout the week.

Simba Class

Ages 7 + 8

This class is reading, writing, and solving mathematical problems at higher levels. Learners have an integrated curriculum utilizing reading skills and mathematical concepts across all subjects such as science or history. Learners begin working more independently during class time. Learners may have increased homework and projects throughout the years in this class.

Duma Class

Ages 9 + 10

This class is preparing to finish their early primary years and transition out of Oyana to larger schools. Learners are expected to work independently and have the opportunity to explore topics of their interest. Learners take on community projects and leadership roles within the school.

Rather than requiring students to adapt to the system, Oyana School’s system adapts to the students. Our school focuses on developing foundational social and academic skills, problem-solving, and community-building. We are dedicated to providing a program for every child that meets his/her needs for physical, mental, social, and emotional development. We believe that every child is special and unique. It is our privilege to provide a place where your child will feel loved and valued as they interact with their classmates and teachers.
